本校曾參與教育局的「語文教育及研究常務委員會」(簡稱「語常會」)所推行的「學前優質英語教學計劃」,接受為期兩年的密集式到校支援及專業培訓。「語常會」導師協助英語老師團隊推行及設計課程、編排課堂活動及選擇合適的教材,讓兒童能接觸優質英語。

本校的英語活動以小班及全英語形式授課,由專科老師以多元化的教學方式 (如: 唱歌、講故事、共同閱讀、遊戲和角色扮演等),使幼兒在零壓力下自然地以英語與老師溝通,同時增強幼兒之間的語言互動機會。為了讓幼兒在一個有意義的語境學習下,專科老師更會設計不同的活動(如: 製作食物、英語日或自由時間與幼兒以英語溝通等) 以提升幼兒的自信心和運用能力。

Our school has joined the Education Bureau’s Standing Committee on Language Education and Research (SCOLAR) scheme which has provided intensed on-site training and supports for two years.  SCOLAR Kindergarten English language (SKEL) Team worked closely with our English teaching team on curriculum design, teaching activities planning and teaching materials selection so that our students can be exposed to English of excellent quality.

 

Our English course adopts the Whole-English approach and is conducted by our specialists. Through storytelling, song, shared reading, game and role-play, the children can learn to communicate in English with teachers or among themselves without pressure.  Moreover, to enable children to use the language meaningfully in a natural environment, our English teachers keep designing new activities (e.g. food making, English Day, Free Time…etc.) to promote children’s confidence in using English.
